Back in BKK

After for me too long time in Vietnam we are now back in my beloved Thailand. Nevertheless I had some great impressions there, especally in Saigon making party with Vietnamese people and other tourists and taking part in the more then crazy traffic on the roads there. I heard there are 3 Million motorbikes in Saigon, and it seemed that every single one of it was on the roads all the time.
Now we will relax the last days here, doing some shopping as I have still 15 kg left for the flight back :-D...

Good Morning Vietnam

After one night stop over in Bangkok (I think my song could really be "One Night in Bangkok") which we spent in a very nice Guesthouse with pool on the roof we got to BKK Airport early in the morning and catched our flight to Saigon.

When arrived in Saigon after a very smooth flight I was very impressed by the traffic there. Thought Bangkok was crazy regarding traffic, but in Saigon it is just a flood of scooters everywhere...

We found a nice Guesthouse there very quickly and spent just one other night in Saigon. Telling you that crossing a street on foot in Saigon is a big exercise, you can believe me this...
Just the other day we got on the train and as we decided us to take the cheapest class you now see what we got....

Most of the time in the train was ok, as it was not fully occupied, so everybody had his row on his own, which changed about 8 hours after depature where 2 hours were still left. Just one seat per person and if you have the usual size of an european guy, you really have problems then sitting there without too much pain in the ass ;-)....
Finally we are now at Nha Trang which looks to me like an artifical city build at the ocean.

Not to much tourists out here, but you can watch great sunrises.... Got up early at 5 am to catch this one...

City still keeps its charm at night as you can see but to be honest, I prefer Thailand in the end...

The plan is to stay here until Friday next week and then going back to Saigon with the bus which has an AC ;-).

Bye bye Koh Tao

8 days of Koh Tao are nearly over, tomorrow we will leave the island going back to Bangkok with the night train and staying there for one day until we do our next leg with the plane to Saigon.
Hope the journey with the train will be better than with the bus... as always in Thailand you have hours of time between the boat and train... but anyway, there are 20 days of vacation left, so no hurry ;-)...

Finally at the beach

Whow guys, this was a challenge starting in Bangkok waiting 1 hour for the bus, so then he brought us 4 hours to early to the ship... haha thanks, was never bored so much in my life waiting half night for something...
Finally we are now at Ko-Tao, got our cabin right 10 meters beyond the shore of the Gulf of Thailand.
Lets say, holiday can begin :-)

Good Morning Bangkok

So this was the first night in Asia and after a nice and healthy dinner in Bangkok and some smaller sightseeing I had a real good sleep after more or less 48 hours without. Not even the noise of the traffic and the city was able to disturb this.
Yesterday evening we did already book a travel to the island Ko Tao which will commence today at 6pm... Looking forward for another night in sitting position, but hopefully the next days will get very relaxing then.

Not sure if there will be Internet Connection so maybe some time until the next post.

How heavy is the backpack???

Just packed the backpack, will be surprsing tomorrow, as my scale did mean to refuse it's job today...
Lifting it up I think it is well below 20 kg.

Hello Vietnam, how beautiful you are???

Things going ahead!

The flight to Bangkok with Emirates is booked, the seats in the Boeing 777-300ER and the Airbus A380-800 are reserved, same for the flight back, next exercise are the domestic flights in Thailand and to Vietnam, and also getting the visa for Vietnam. Lot to organize in these days.... But finally happy to be on vacation in about 15 days :-).

High Level Plan

Going forward we will fly to Bangkok, stay short time there and going ahead to Phuket, do some Island hopping and have a lot of fun.
Next flight will be Phuket-Bangkok-Saigon. There we will catch the bus to Nha-Trang and have a lot fun in this area and meet some girls/guys known by my friend Wolfi from last years and maybe living one or two days with them in the village visiting Loc. Have been told they are also addicted to Karaoke so hopefully they have some english or german ones ;-)...
Finally we should get back to Saigon catching the flight to Bangkok and have a short break before going back to Frankfurt... Thanks boss for this :-)

Auf geht's

Morgen wird dann endlich der Urlaubsantrag abgeschickt, der schon seit Wochen auf meinem Schreibtisch rumgammelt. 01.09.2011-28.09.2011. Der Chef hat ja schon fast geweint, als ich ihm sagte, ich brauch 4 Wochen frei :-D... Als ich dann noch meinte, ich nehme keinen BlackBerry und kein Laptop mit... ohoh ;-)...

Jetzt noch harte 3,5 Wochen überstehen und dann...
